Harvest hauling relief continues through November 7
The higher weight ceiling still comes with road, bridge and axle limits.

There is more time to use Iowa’s temporary harvest hauling relief, with an extension through November 7. Before loading up, though, haulers still need to check the route.
Governor Kim Reynolds extended the proclamation allowing qualifying loads up to 90,000 pounds gross weight without an overweight permit. It applies outside the interstate system, and posted road and bridge limits remain in force.
The signed proclamation covers specified agricultural loads, including corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, distillers grains and soybean meal, as well as specified fertilizer and manure loads.
The total-weight ceiling is only part of the rules. Axle weights remain subject to the proclamation’s conditions, including a 20,000-pound maximum and a limit of 12.5 percent above the applicable axle-weight tables.
The extension can be ended or extended again. Haulers should check the signed proclamation and their route before relying on the relief: https://governor.iowa.gov/media/609/download?inline= .
This is separate from the temporary dyed-diesel rules affecting some farm hauling.
